E.S. Posthumus = Movie Music Goodness

Posted by jason on Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Every once in awhile I stumble across an unknown gem be it movies, music or delicious treat.  Right about the time the first Spiderman movie hit around 2001  or so, I remember catching the movie trailer for it and absolutely loved the music that was in it.  I searched high and low and luckily was [...]

Premium Wordpress Theme Showcase: Revolution

Posted by jason on Thursday, February 28th, 2008

One of the more nerdy things I find myself spending obscene amounts of time onlineRevolution doing is perusing the many Wordpress themes that pop up on a daily basis.  Back in the old days (which in Internet terms is a few months), Wordpress themes were mostly free and a dime a dozen.  Some were unique in certain ways, but at the end of the day, they all pretty much looked similar.  Most Wordpress enthusiasts could easily look at a free theme and know it was just that; a free theme that in most cases was downloaded thousands of times.

But over the past few months a shift has been occurring and Premium Wordpress themes are all the rage.  Web designers have found a new income niche by designing unique and “un-blog” looking designs that push the boundaries of what Wordpress can do.  Nobody has done a more impressive job on capitalizing on this boom than that of Brian Gardner with his Revolution Theme packages.

I stumbled across Brian’s blog early on in his Revolution theme experiment and have been able to see it quickly gain tremendous momentum as a mover and shaker in the Premium Wordpress theme genre.  In addition to being a great designer and producing clean, impressive looking magazine style themes, Brian has established himself as a dependable, accessible provider.  I really think a big reason for his success also comes from the strong community he has developed with his support forums.  He’s always in there responding and contributing, and he’s empowered others to spread the love which is a recipe for success.

Having a search marketing background I can also appreciate smart marketing when I see it.  I’m still amazed how uncompetitive terms such as “premium wordpress themes” are in paid search, and Brian is benefiting from this as he got in on it early.  I’m sure it won’t be long before others jump on the bandwagon, but in business, being the first to market can usually be all you need to solidify yourself as a major player.  And seeing that Brian is backing it up with outstanding products and world class service, I think he’s going to be around for quite some time.

And if that wasn’t enough, Brian has launched quite an impressive affiliate promotion where he is offering some pretty lucrative prizes for his top affiliate performers throughout the month of March.  I don’t anticipate that I’ll be a contender with my new shiny blog not having built an audience yet, but don’t hesitate to prove me wrong!

If you’re looking for a professional grade magazine style premium template for your website, I highly recommend Brian’s Revolution Themes.  You won’t be disappointed.
